If you’re like me, you clean your bathroom daily by wiping the
counters, cleaning the mirrors, wiping down the shower wall or tub,
the toilet and sweeping/vacuuming the floor.
But one area is typically always overlooked: the toilet tank. Yes, the
inside of the toilet tank needs to be cleaned regularly. I know. I can hear the groans.
But it’s straightforward and requires absolutely zero effort on your part! Follow the simple instructions below, you’ll be amazed!
- Flush the toilet and turn off the water
- Remove the top of the tank
- Push down on the handle to drain the rest of the water from the tank
- Fill the tank with water from the tap/tub until it reaches the waterline
- Pour 1 C of Citric Acid into the tank (You can buy this in the canning section of Walmart or your local grocery store)
- Wait 1-2 hours
- Hold the handle down to drain the tank
- Repeat step 4
- Repeat step 7
- Turn the water back on
Voila! The tank is clean and looks like new! Or as close as possible to how it looked when it was new.
